  • QA Team Lead
  • VP of Engineering
  • Seattle, WA

RIPL is looking for an outstanding QA Lead to manage RIPL's test team. This is a hands-on position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of automated tools and a test infrastructure for validating features and interfaces, at all levels (front end, middle tier and backend).
  • Similarly, lead the design, development, and monitoring of automated tests against new software features and enhancements to existing software.
  • Lead the development of automation in the build and deployment process.
  • Take responsibility and pride in delivering on-time, with high quality, and in accordance with all established coding and testing standards.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform root cause failure analysis on identified systems and drive issues to closure with preventive measures.
  • Drive cost reduction by value engineering current test process.
  • Participate in agile development processes and scrum.
  • Translate customer requirements and product goals into appropriate tests. Review all designs for testability.
  • Work closely with development and design teams to drive inclusion of test hooks into code base to enable front line testers' quicker validation of features.
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills to proactively communicate with other development team members.
  • Manage both in house and offshore test efforts.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years experience in test.
  • 2 years test lead experience
  • Experience with one or more test automation systems.
  • T-SQL and SQL Server experience highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Enjoy tackling hard coding problems as well as testing problems
  • Core competencies in Java/J2EE, Web Services, Messaging, Networking, Database, and web development. Working knowledge of JavaScript, page markup languages and web server technologies.
  • Experience with both Windows and OS-X is strongly preferred
  • Teams with the leads and management of other groups to resolve important issues that affect deliverables, schedule, or other QA commitments.
  • Hands-on experience in Performance/Stress/Load testing for enterprise-level web-based and client server projects a plus.
  • Experience managing offshore test teams a plus.
